CHAPTER 1
Dr Watson visits his friend, Sherlock Homes, and he ask for the new case about. Holmes says him that here is a young woman who is frightened because when her mother died, her stepfather stopped work as a doctor and changed so much. Two years ago, her sister died and her death was so misterious. Now, the young woman, Helen, is frightened for her own life ans want that Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson help her.
CHAPTER 2
Helen Stoner tell what happened to Julia, her sister, to Sherlock Holmes. Two years ago, she heard strange noises every night during a week. One night, just before Julia's wedding, Helen heard her sister screaming and a strange whistling and the sound of metal claning.
Julia said: -"It was the speckled band", and suddenly she died.
CHAPTER 3
Helen recently got engaged and she tells Holmes and Watson thats she's afraid. Her stepfather has done some repairs to the house and he has made her use the room where Julia died. Last night, Helen heared a Strange whistling and the sound of metal claning and she deicided taught the first train to London to ask them for help. Holmes and Watson decide to see Julia's room.
CHAPTER 4
The Dr Grimesby Roylott follow her step-daughter to Holme's office ans threatens him. Holmes decides to check the will that Helen's mother left and finds out that Roylott would control the money only until her daughter get married.
Holmes and Watson take the train and go to helen's house.
CHAPTER 5
Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson visit Helen's home and investigate her sister's death. In the room they see strange things, like for a bed that can't be moved (the bed's fastened to the floor). a ventilator that doesn't ring!
They decide to examine Dr Roylott's room.
CHAPTER 6
In the roylott's room, Watson and Holmes found some strange clues: a saucer of milk in the floor, someone has been standing on a chair, a strange stick, a metal safe...
Holmes say Helen that she must follow his isntructions very carefully if she want stay alive.APTER
CHAPTER 7
Holmes and Watson take a room in the local to watch for Helen's signal. When her stepfather goes to bed, she can send them a signal with the lamp.
Watson reminds Holmes that he must carry his gun because they maybe in danger.
Holmes seems sure he has solved the mystery.
CHAPTER 8
Holmes and Watson decide to spend the night in the room where Julia died. They have climb up to get and just when they are about to enter they hear a terrible noise. It's the baboon.
CHAPETER 9
Holmes and Watson sit silently in the room for more than three hours, waiting. Then suddenly, they see something that has been hidden behind the ventilator. They deicide to go to Roylott's room with the gun ready.
CHAPTER 10
In this moment, Holmes and Watson hear a terrible scream from Dr Roylott's room. Inside they see the doctor dead. He has a snake surrounding his head. It's a swamp adder (the deadliest snake in India).
His plans to kill Helen has caused his own death. And, fortunately, the case is closed and Holmes and Watson save Helen's life.
CHAPTER 7
Holmes and Watson take a room in the local to watch for Helen's signal. When her stepfather goes to bed, she can send them a signal with the lamp.
Watson reminds Holmes that he must carry his gun because they maybe in danger.
